Minnesota students head back to school while much of the state sees sweltering heat
Back to school we go! It's a hot one for many students across the state without A/C in schools. Also: We've begun free school meals, plus a look at a new school year without distance learning.

Holiday weekend heat puts a dent in Minnesota State Fair attendance
Ope ... State Fair attendance over Labor Day weekend was down more than 25 percent compared to last year. The likely culprit: heat. However, this year's fair had the sixth-highest attendance on record for the State Fair. Not too shabby, Minnesota!

🚓 Police union argues for stake in human rights agreement with Minneapolis
The settlement is based on an investigation that found that people of color are more likely to be arrested or used force against than white residents. It also mandates changes to police policies and procedures.
⛺ Four injured when tent catches fire in central Minnesota
Authorities said the four — two women and two girls — were in a tent outside a home on Ash Avenue South when it caught fire. The sheriff’s office reported one of the women was working on an art project with a can of spray paint.
