Lawsuit claims unequal housing code enforcement hurts Minneapolis renters of color
Arianna Anderson remembers one of the first times she called Minneapolis’ 311 line to report possible lead in her north Minneapolis home. It was 2018. A city inspector tested one wall and told her there was no lead. Later tests proved she, her partner and their five children were all exposed to it.

Employees at all seven First Avenue music venues vote to unionize
About 200 bartenders, ticket-collectors, and floor managers working at First Avenue’s seven locations voted for the union. They’re asking for better pay, better training and more notice in scheduling shifts.

Conservators and artists have worked this past year to restore a work of art created by artist George Morrison half a century ago. Morrison’s vision is felt by the people who helped to restore his work, and by those redesigning the building where the mural lives.
🗣️ Minneapolis rabbi discusses decision to interrupt president's fundraiser
Rabbi Jessica Rosenberg interrupted a Minneapolis event with Joe Biden as speaker, asking for a call for a ceasefire. Attendees shushed Rosenberg and told her to leave. Staff later escorted her out of the dinner. She joined us for a conversation.
📍 Moorhead unveils monument to Black civil war veteran
A new monument in Moorhead, Minn., honors a Black civil war veteran. Felix Battles joined the Union army at Fort Snelling in 1864. After the war he settled in Moorhead and worked as a barber until his death in 1907.
🚣🏻 New invasive crayfish found in Minnesota lake
There’s a new aquatic invasive species in Minnesota. The signal crayfish has been confirmed by the Department of Natural Resources in Lake Winona, near Alexandria, Minn.
📞 Jury to start deliberations in $300M telemarketing fraud trial
A jury in Minneapolis on Friday heard closing arguments in the case of three people charged in a nationwide telemarketing scam that ensnared more than 150,000 magazine subscribers and cost them $300 million.  The jury of five men and seven women is expected to begin deliberations Monday morning.
