Weather is the story as we finish off this week. Snow will taper off tomorrow morning, then part two begins. The storm is still on track to deliver high winds, blowing snow, blizzard conditions and dangerous wind chills through Saturday morning. Get the latest on Updraft.

Winter storm starts hitting Minnesota, affecting travel, schools
Winter storm warnings went into effect Wednesday across much of southern, central and northeast Minnesota. In many of those same places, blizzard and wind chill warnings will go into effect on Thursday. We've got updates on school districts closures, power outages and travel impacts.

Prosecutor: Deadly force by MPD snipers justified in Tekle Sundberg shooting
No charges will be brought against the Minneapolis police snipers who killed 20-year-old Andrew Tekle Sundberg in July after he allegedly threatened to shoot officers following an hourslong standoff. Sundberg's family says he was having a mental health crisis at the time.

🚧 Lawmakers approve near-$500 million office building expansion
The 90-year-old State Office Building, with safety and accessibility concerns, got the green light today for a costly renovation despite calls from some Republicans to delay because of the plan’s price. For comparison, the Capitol renovation finished in 2017 cost $310 million.
📄 Report: Black women and girls disproportionately targeted for violence
Some key causes of violence in the task force’s findings included racism, harmful stereotypes, hyper-sexualization of Black people, low wage employment and financial disparities.
🤒 Looking for medicine for a sick kid? You may be out of luck
If you have a sick child, you probably know Tylenol and Motrin have become hard to find in stores. Experts say you can likely forego the medicine for home remedies.
🌐 Google affiliate’s plans to build data center in Becker fizzle
It’s a blow to Becker, whose leaders hoped the data center would provide employment and economic growth amid the closure of a massive coal-burning plant in the city.
