Toys R Us to open new flagship store at Mall of America
The owners of Toys R Us say the new store will be opening this weekend — ahead of the holiday shopping season — with an opening celebration planned Friday through Sunday.

Minneapolis moves forward with $1M plan for policing alternatives
A Minneapolis City Council committee on Thursday moved forward a contract with New York University School of Law’s Police Project to help the city implement more public safety alternatives to policing.

🕯️ 5 U.S. service members, including 1 from MN, killed in a helicopter crash during training exercise
Five American service members, including one from Minnesota, were killed during a training exercise after a military Black Hawk helicopter crashed into the Mediterranean Sea on Saturday morning, defense officials said.
🚧 Major downtown St. Paul intersection closed this week
The intersection of West Seventh Street and Fifth Street — also known as Cleveland Circle, at the northwest corner of the Xcel Energy Center — closed to traffic early Monday. The Minnesota Department of Transportation said the closure is slated to last until 5 p.m. Friday.
