Historic, all-woman St. Paul City Council sworn in and ready to work

The group of seven elected officials is majority women of color, and all the women on the council are under the age of 40, making them the city’s most racially diverse and youngest council ever.

Big Lake woman latest to plead guilty in Feeding our Future case

Sharon Ross admitted stealing more than $2.4 million from government child nutrition programs. She is among five dozen people charged in connection with the Feeding our Future investigation and is the 17th to plead guilty.

🏛️ Daudt, a former House speaker, to leave Minn. Legislature in February
Kurt Daudt has been a Republican caucus leader for much of his time in the Minnesota Legislature, including a stint as House speaker. He’ll leave before the next session begins on Feb. 12.
🏞️ State closing Upper Sioux Agency State Park to transfer land back to tribe
The closure of the southwest Minnesota park near Granite Falls is part of a previously announced plan to transfer the property to the nearby Upper Sioux Community.

Police in Cloquet on Wednesday released the names of the two victims and the alleged gunman who died in a shooting at a motel in the northern Minnesota city earlier this week.

Crews have been battling a fire Wednesday morning at a building along University Avenue in St. Paul. The fire department says no injuries have been reported, and the cause is under investigation.
🚕 Ahead of planned strike, Lyft announces it will give Twin Cities drivers a minimum fare
From Sahan Journal: The California-based rideshare giant said drivers will be paid at least $5 for rides that begin or end in the Twin Cities.
