Cooperstown bound: Joe Mauer headed to baseball Hall of Fame

St. Paul native Joe Mauer, who spent his entire baseball career with the Minnesota Twins, is joining the baseball Hall of Fame. The longtime catcher was elected in the first year of eligibility. He'll be inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, N.Y., this July.

Family of man who died in Hennepin County Jail files federal lawsuit

Lucas Bellamy — the son of Twin Cities theater legend Lou Bellamy — died in 2022 in the Hennepin County Jail. In a lawsuit, his family alleges that “deliberate indifference” to his medical needs led to his death.
