😶‍🌫️ Foggy Thursday with a few sprinkles in southeast Minnesota. Highs are above freezing for most of the state but watch out for slick, as temps will fall to near or slightly below freezing tonight. Get more on Updraft.

🧊 Frozen Masterpieces: Ice sculptures at the Minneapolis Institute of Art
Pearson’s “Veiled Lady” is one of ten ice sculptures by Minnesota Ice on view starting today for Mia’s “Minneapolis Institute of Ice” event. The sculptures will be on view in the museum courtyard through Feb. 4, weather permitting.
Family of Ricky Cobb II grateful for murder charge against state trooper

During a press conference, the family and an attorney representing them thanked Hennepin County Attorney Mary Moriarty for bringing three charges against trooper Ryan Londregan.

💰 Court approves sales of Crossroads Center in St. Cloud

Crossroads bills itself as the largest regional shopping mall in Minnesota outside of the Twin Cities. Like other malls, it has struggled financially due to the COVID-19 pandemic and competition from online shopping.

🔎 Minnesota auditor finds missteps in cannabis boss hire but won’t launch further probe
Minnesota’s legislative auditor concludes that background steps were missed when Gov. Tim Walz picked his first Office of Cannabis Management leader, which ended with a quick resignation.
📨 Minnesota post office report shows deficiencies, spurs statewide audit

An audit of Minnesota post office branches found delayed mail, safety issues and deficiencies in property conditions. The audit looked at branches in Apple Valley, Eagan and New Brighton, as well as the St. Paul processing and distribution center.

🚨 DFL state Rep. Curran pleads guilty to drunk driving charge

Rep. Brion Curran pleaded guilty to a DWI charge after October roadside stop. A judge approved the plea agreement this week.
