UMN moving to reacquire medical center from Fairview Health Services

Both the university and Fairview said there will be no change in patient care or day-to-day operations stemming from the letter of intent. The move comes after an unsuccessful proposed merger between Fairview and South Dakota-based Sanford Health.

⚖️ St. Paul rec center shooter gets 10 years in plea deal
A Ramsey County judge handed the sentence to a former employee who shot and critically wounded a teenager last year. An attorney said the teenager had to have a portion of his skull removed and still suffers from seizures.
🏥 Authorities identify man shot by Willmar police officer
The BCA said Jerry Jones, 33, of Willmar was shot multiple times. He’s currently in the hospital in stable condition. The agency identified the officer who shot him as Michael Holme, who has 17 years of law enforcement experience.
🏛️ University of Minnesota names three presidential finalists
“This is the first time at least in modern history that the university will have more than one candidate in the public phase for president of the University of Minnesota, so that's a really big deal,” said Brian Steeves, the executive director of the Board of Regents.

The first tornado ever recorded in Wisconsin in the usually frigid month of February came on a day that broke records for warmth, setting up the perfect scenario for the type of severe weather normally seen in the late spring and summer.
🚨 St. Paul police looking for dogs that attacked, injured 7-year-old girl
 The girl had just gotten off a bus and was walking with her mother when a group of dogs emerged from a yard, attacked and started biting. Police said the child suffered bites to her head and legs, and has significant but not life-threatening injuries.
