St. Paulites: Check where your cars are parked tonight; snow emergency routes start at 9 p.m. Eden Prairie, Bloomington, Brooklyn Park and Mankato also declared snow emergencies today, a day that surpassed seasonal snow totals at the metro airport.

St. Paul rec center shooting victim 'critical'; rec center worker arrested
“We are shocked by this. We ought to be shocked by this." The teen shot in the head yesterday outside St. Paul’s Jimmy Lee Recreation Center is in critical condition, and the 26-year-old suspect in custody is a city employee who was working at the rec center.

Storm drops more than a half-foot of snow on parts of Minnesota
Parts of the state were digging out from more than a half-foot of snow today. We're seeing twice the normal amount for this point in the season — and already nearly an inch over what the Twin Cities usually sees in an entire winter. State highways saw more than 300 crashes and spinouts from last night into late this morning.

⚡ Bill requiring carbon-free electricity in Minnesota by 2040 passes first committee
It would require utilities to use only carbon-free sources to generate electricity. The House climate and energy committee approved the bill along party lines. Its next stop? The House floor.
💰 Walz plan spends billions for businesses, workers and environment
A sprawling economic and climate action plan from Gov. Tim Walz would kickstart a paid family leave program, raise pay for health care aides, boost grants for business startups, incentivize clean power and help young farmers. He will release his full 2024-25 plan on Tuesday.
