Let's look ahead to the weekend: Saturday highs will be in the 30s across most of Minnesota and western Wisconsin. Then till now, temps will slowly increase. The latest is on Updraft.

Officials: Minnesota front-line worker awards subject to federal taxes
Remember the $487.45 front-line bonus that went to health care workers, grocery store employees, custodians and other Minnesota essential workers? It's considered income for federal purposes and will be taxable this season.

An eagle sniffs an egg
Sure step toward spring: First egg visible in Minnesota DNR's EagleCam nest
Groundhog says winter, bald eagle says SPRING. A bald eagle has turned over a long-awaited egg in a nest near the Mississippi River, the first of the season for the celebrated nature livestream by the Minnesota DNR. Watch the livestream here (we can't guarantee eagle- or egg-spotting, but that's the thrill of it all.)

🏫 'Very excited about the future': Round Lake-Brewster schools pass $30.48M referendum
It took two tries, but Round Lake-Brewster schools in southwest Minnesota has approved a $30 million referendum. The money will go toward fixing the school, built in 1914 and in need of significant repairs. It'll add $384 annually to property taxes on a $150,000 house.
🚧 Roof of downtown Mankato building caves in; nearby streets closed
Unusually-heavy February rain — atop a still-deep snowpack — likely sent down the roof of Mankato's downtown Landmark Center this week. A block of Main Street remains closed.
