Happy last full week of February!

We really don’t need additional snow right now, but there are some light flakes in the Friday night forecast. Snow (just an inch!) is expected to spread into Minnesota and western Wisconsin. Tonight's wind chill advisory continues until 10 a.m. tomorrow in northwestern Minnesota and eastern North Dakota. Get the latest on Updraft.
The Roof Depot site
Minneapolis Roof Depot demolition halted for now
A judge ruled the City of Minneapolis may not move forward with a planned demolition next week of the empty Roof Depot site in the East Phillips neighborhood. The city wants to use the space to construct a public works facility. Residents who oppose demolition have proposed alternatives for the site such as an urban farm, a community center and a site for tiny homes.

U puts a number on acquiring its buildings from Fairview: $950 million
The University of Minnesota released what it plans to ask state lawmakers to provide as it works to acquire its buildings from Fairview Health Services, in the midst of a proposed merger with Sanford Health, based in Sioux Falls, SD. The funds would acquire the four facilities as well as operations,  staff, union contracts and leadership for the new organization.

🦠 National survey, some statewide metrics show Minnesotans seeing less COVID
Last week we presented the results of our reader survey, which indicated that many of you thought COVID-19 was circulating in your communities more in recent weeks. This week, we have the latest results of a more scientific poll.
