Feds give $2M to plan Rondo 'land bridge' above I-94 in St. Paul
Nonprofit ReConnect Rondo is working to reestablish the torn community. That includes a proposal to build a deck over part of the interstate and restore some of the amenities razed during 1960s road construction — getting $2 million to do so.

⚖️ Teen gets 24 years for murder outside Richfield school
Fernando Valdez-Alvarez, 19, of Minneapolis, admitted in court to shooting and killing 15-year-old Jahmari Rice and wounding another 17-year-old last year outside the South Education Center in Richfield. "Just the fact of him saying that he didn't intend to kill my son, but you shoot two kids in the chest. Well what do you think is going to happen?"
🧠 How to help kids and teens with their mental health, students weigh in
Last year, nearly a third of Minnesota students reported they struggle with long-term mental health problems. Rates of depression and anxiety have skyrocketed. And there aren't enough  mental health professionals to help. Schools are on the front line of this fight, and many say this crisis could usher in a new way of looking at education.
💧 DNR: Elko New Market bottled water plant doesn't need environmental review
Some residents are worried about the impacts on the region's groundwater after a proposed bottled water plant in Elko New market. They petitioned the DNR to require an environmental assessment worksheet. But the DNR has rejected that request, saying they didn't provide evidence that the project would have significant impacts on groundwater or nearby water bodies, such as the Vermillion River.
🍺 St. Paul company brings craft to non-alcoholic beer
The non-alcoholic beverage industry is exploding right now, thanks in part to a St. Paul business . In 2017, ABV Technology set out to create a non-alcoholic beer that “actually tasted good." The tech had already been around for a long time, but not at a price point that let craft brewers join the market with their more refined brews.
