Some ‘cautiously hopeful’ state oversight will lead to changes in Minneapolis police
Dozens of U.S. cities have been in federal consent decrees in the past three decades. But Minneapolis could be one of the first under such close scrutiny by a state agency. The city is also under investigation by the U.S. Department of Justice.

'A reflection of the Twin Cities': Minnesota fans gather for a season opener win
Kyle Farmer bounced a bases-loaded single straight up the middle of a drawn-in Houston infield in the 10th inning, giving the Minnesota Twins a 3-2 victory over the over the whiff-prone Astros in their home opener Thursday.

🛒 Cub Foods union announces tentative contract deal, averting two-day strike
The union said it includes wage increases of $2.50 to $3.50 an hour by spring 2024, and the creation of a safety committee. UFCW Local 663 also said the contract contains “huge wins” for part-time workers, and moves about 300 employees to full-time status.

A lead hydrologist says the predicted worst-case scenario stands, given the recent weather and lingering snowpack. "Once we get some warmer temperatures coming up this weekend, we’ll get that melt started. You’re going to see the tributaries flowing.  Everybody be careful out there, because water will be coming up — so be ready.”
⚖️ Lawsuit alleges Sherburne County negligent in jail inmate's death
Sherburne County is facing another lawsuit in the death of a jail inmate who died by suicide. Justice Lee White, 23, hanged himself in the Sherburne County jail on April 10, 2020. He died at a hospital 11 days later. White's family filed a federal lawsuit against the county and two correctional officers who were assigned to White's unit that day.
