Be your own champion | |
I was never a star of PE class at school, but in the years since I’ve come to appreciate that sport and fitness isn’t all about being stronger or faster than your peers.
Moving your body has a range of benefits: for your brain, your heart and lungs, your bones, your mental health — and often your social life too.
And that’s the thinking behind Sporty’s Fitness Challenge, which has been going for the past two months but is coming into the final stretch this week.
The idea has been to spend 60 days working on an achievable personal goal to increase your physical activity. Medals and prizes will be awarded for the best stories of how you’ve gone.
Here’s one of the progress reports we’ve received along the way, from Candy:
“I started off angry and depressed and have had the best couple of weeks, learning to use Nordic Poles, and climbing millions of steps — well, a lot, anyway, seemed like millions to me. The 60-day challenge is motivating and has made me much happier than I was. So thank you, Sporty.”
If you’re still wanting to enter, the competition closes on Tuesday night.
