MASTER OF PUBLIC HEALTH PROGRAM FOCUSES ON URBANIZATION

The Master of Public Health (MPH) Program at Cal State LA Downtown includes a unique focus on urban community health serving diverse populations in urban areas like L.A. As urbanization continues to increase in the U.S. and worldwide, so does the need for people interested in urban planning and public health careers. Rapid urbanization also means more need for public health services, and local administrators actively seek people out for that reason.

Students in the program will understand how to improve health outcomes at the population level and how various factors can impact the health of local communities. Cal State LA’s program allows both recent bachelor’s degree recipients and seasoned public health professionals to learn the intricacies of this growing field.
