Apple could work with Sony for a critical Vision Pro upgrade

Apple has been talking to Sony about bringing support for the PlayStation VR 2’s controllers to Apple’s Vision Pro headset, according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, who added that Apple has also “discussed the plan with third-party developers, asking them if they’d integrate support into their games.” Both Apple and Sony were expected to publicly confirm the compatibility weeks ago, but it seems there were some technical snags, and as a result, the announcement has been postponed. As part of the deal — assuming it comes to fruition — Sony is expected to sell the PlayStation VR 2 controller via Apple’s online storefront as well as at brick-and-mortar outlets ... |

Google Photos just got its own 2024 year in review. Here’s how to find it |
The fun feature works on phones and tablets and lets you relive your favorite memories from the last 12 months
Google Photos' new end-of-year feature offers a special recap that you can find at the top of the app’s main page through the featured memories carousel on the iOS and Android Google Photos apps, Digital Trends reported. The feature includes several categories to highlight different aspects of your year. "Longest streak,” for example, shows your longest consecutive number of days of taking pictures; "Year in smiles" counts the total smiles captured and identifies who you smile with the most, and "Your top faces" reveals the people who appeared most frequently in your photos. And there's more ... |

Earbuds designed specifically to help you sleep better is a fascinating and growing sector, and Digital Trends’ mobile specialist Andy Boxall has tried a number of them over the years. The Ozlo Sleepbuds, which Andy has just reviewed, turned out to be the most comfortable sleep buds he’s ever worn. He also commended the battery, which lasts for several sleeps, the high-quality sleep sounds, and the uncluttered app. However, the $299 price tag will be prohibitive for many, and the review includes the names of some alternative sleep buds that are also worth a look. The absence of sleep monitoring is also a disappointment, though Ozlo said it’s aiming to launch the feature early next year ... |

Apple TV+'s latest Severance season 2 trailer gives fans their best look yet at the sci-fi show's new episodes |
Severance fans will recall that season 1 ends with Mark (Adam Scott), Helly (Britt Lower), Dylan (Zach Cherry), and Irving (John Turturro) exposing to the outside world the torment that their "innie" work selves endure at Lumon Industries. Astro Bot wasn’t 2024’s only great platformer
Platformer fans may have overlooked some of 2024's best offerings. Here are 5 you may have missed
