Leaders celebrate completion of public housing sprinkler installations

All 42 of Minneapolis' public housing complexes now have fire suppression systems. In November 2019, a Cedar Avenue fire killed six people. At the time, only 16 high rises had sprinkler systems.

🪧 Charges filed against DFL Minnesota House candidate in alleged sign-stealing case in Alexandria
Judd Hoff, a DFL candidate for the Minnesota House who has been disavowed by the state party, was charged with receiving stolen property and abetting felony theft. His wife, Wendy Hoff, was charged with felony theft. More than 240 yard signs have gone missing in Alexandria over the past few weeks. Police say the majority of these were found in the backyard and garage of the Hoffs’ home.
🏥 Boyd Huppert isn’t letting his cancer relapse stop him from telling stories, including his own
“I have an opportunity, because of my position, to share this story and hopefully help others, but it’s also been a big help to me,” KARE 11 reporter Boyd Huppert said. Huppert is living with a blood cancer called multiple myeloma. It has no cure.
🍷 Haskell’s wine shops owner, Twin Cities media personality Jack Farrell, dies at 82
The CEO of Haskell’s Wine and Spirits — a specialty wine chain — passed away on July 27. His obituary described Farrell as having a bucket list of traveling the world seeking new wine values and sharing these wines for decades on his “Entertaining Ideas” weekly radio show on WCCO.
