Primary elections: Minnesotans are voting today for who will be on November ballot

Voters across Minnesota headed to polling places on Tuesday to cast ballots in the state’s primary elections. The primary sets the stage for a fall campaign that will decide who fills a U.S. Senate seat, eight U.S. House spots, all 134 Minnesota House seats and a winner-take-all contest for the state Senate majority.

Minneapolis mosque leaders urging FBI to investigate series of threatening calls

The Council on American-Islamic Relations in Minnesota, or CAIR, is calling on the FBI to investigate what some Minneapolis mosque leaders are calling a hate crime. Leaders say they’ve received more than 14 calls from a St. Cloud-based phone number between Aug. 10 and Aug. 11.

☑️ Wisconsin voters to set Senate race and decide on questions limiting the governor's power
Wisconsin’s U.S. Senate race will officially be set in Tuesday’s primary. The power of former President Donald Trump’s endorsement will also be tested in a Republican congressional primary and Democrats will decide on a candidate in a swing House district to take on a GOP incumbent.
🚓 Metro Transit police chief placed on paid leave
The Metropolitan Council said that Metro Transit Police Chief Ernest Morales III went on leave on Friday. Metro Transit has not provided further information on what prompted that move.
