Minnesota State Fair superfans gathered beneath a brilliantly colorful sunrise sky Thursday to be the first through the gates as the iconic event started its 12-day run.

FDA approves updated COVID-19 vaccines, shots should be available in days

The FDA approved new COVID-19 vaccines, as a summer wave of the virus continues in most of the country. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention already has recommended this fall’s shot for everyone age 6 months and older. Vaccinations could be available within days.

⚡ After feedback, Xcel changes plan to charge more for electricity during peak hours 
Xcel Energy proposed charging variable rates to better reflect the actual cost of delivering electricity during times of peak demand. The utility now says the program will be voluntary for customers who choose to opt in, and the peak rates won’t be as high.
