🌨️ Minnesota is making up for its wimpy winter! About 6 to 12 inches of snow fell across the greater Twin Cities area. Snowfall totals up north have exceeded a foot in many locations. 

The North Shore's blizzard warning and northern and western Minnesota's winter storm warning extends through 7 p.m. Tuesday. Expect a wintry mix and strong winds in central and southern Minnesota. Get more on Updraft.

Finally, snow! Minnesota’s north country celebrates March storm

The biggest winter storm of the season slammed the Brainerd Lakes area, Duluth and the North Shore of Lake Superior Monday, dropping nearly a foot of heavy snow in places, with more still falling. The storm closed schools and caused dangerous travel conditions. It also provided a last dose of winter fun that many people longed for.

Child abuse images get Pine City man 29-year sentence

Caleb Vincent McLaughlin, 27, lied about his age and used multiple social media platforms to contact hundreds of girls between the ages of 11 and 17 to “groom and rape minor victims for years,” court documents say. An assistant U.S. attorney wrote “by far, one of the worst online and hands-on child exploitation cases this district has seen in recent history.”

🏠 Minnesota lawmakers could OK $109 million for property owners over sales of forfeited parcels
The money would help Minnesota counties pay back property owners who lost out on earnings when their forfeited properties were sold. The move comes after a unanimous 2023 U.S. Supreme Court ruling that Hennepin County violated a Minneapolis woman’s rights when it sold her property for more than she owed in taxes and kept the windfall.
🚀 A space shuttle coming to St. Cloud? It’s possible
The full-scale mockup of a shuttle orbiter, known as Inspiration, is currently housed near the Kennedy Space Center in Florida, but it needs to be moved. The shuttle was scheduled to be destroyed at the end of its lifecycle, but NASA wanted it donated for education.
🌍 Israel cancels high-level talks in Washington after cease-fire vote clears the U.N.
The United Nations Security Council has voted 14-0 in favor of a resolution demanding a cease-fire in Gaza for the rest of Ramadan. The United States abstained from the vote, clearing the way for the measure to pass.
🧤 Staying safe while shoveling wet, heavy snow
Have you heard the term “heart attack snow?” It’s a real thing, unfortunately. Shoveling heavy snow can put you at higher risk of heart attack or cardiac arrest. Mayo Clinic cardiologist Dr. Vinayak Nagaraja joined MPR News host Cathy Wurzer and shared how to keep yourself safe as you clean up from the storm.
