BCA settles with families of men killed by police over investigative files

The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension has settled a lawsuit with five families whose family members were killed at the hands of police. The families said the BCA withheld data about the investigations that should be public under state law.

Rosemount recycler breaks ground on $71 million expansion

Gov. Tim Walz was in Rosemount celebrating a $71 million plant expansion to boost aluminum recycling. Spectro Alloys says the expansion will create as many as 50 new jobs and give the facility 120 million more pounds of recycling capacity.

Former Minnesota Gov. Jesse Ventura is launching his own brand of cannabis edibles. Ventura is partnering with Columbia Heights-based Retro Bakery, which is producing hemp-derived THC edibles under the Jesse Ventura Farms brand.

Authorities say shots were fired Tuesday night as law enforcement officers pursued a vehicle in the western Twin Cities metro area. There were no reports of serious injuries.

Court papers show a man accused of helping lead a human smuggling ring was warned about blizzard conditions before an India family froze to death trying to cross into the U.S. with his associate.
