Portions of northern Minnesota will see periods of snow or a wintry mix tonight into Saturday morning. A few spots in far northern Minnesota could also see a Sunday morning snow shower. Southern and central Minnesota will have a chance of scattered rain showers Friday night, with another chance of scattered rain showers Sunday afternoon and evening. Get more on Updraft.

How zebra mussels spurred the Red Lake Nation push to return tribal lands

Red Lake’s Legal Counsel Joe Plumer says zebra mussels pose a serious threat to walleye on both Upper Red Lake and Lower Red Lake. "The DNR told us they had neither the money nor the manpower to address zebra mussels in Upper Red Lake."

Minnesota teen gets 4 years as accomplice in fatal robbery that led to police shooting of Amir Locke

Feysal Jama Ali, 18, of Minneapolis, pleaded guilty earlier to being an accomplice after the fact in the killing of Otis Elder, 38, of St. Paul, during a marijuana deal Jan. 10, 2022. Ali was sentenced Wednesday as part of his plea deal.

️‍⚧️ On Trans Day of Visibility, Rep. Leigh Finke reflects on first year in Legislature and what’s ahead
State Rep. Leigh Finke, DFL-St. Paul, had a busy first year as a legislator and her second is set to build upon the work of the last. Finke was the author of the Trans Refuge Act, which Gov. Tim Walz signed into law last spring. She says it was a “rallying moment for trans people both in Minnesota and outside.”
🌧️ March ends and hallmarks the year’s odd weather patterns so far
It’s not a Minnesota spring without snow. March signified that despite record-setting warm temperature there is still a chance of blizzards come spring. Climatologist and meteorologist Mark Seeley said that isn’t the first time this happened — the most recent being in 2000 and the earliest being in 1910.
TikTok: Minnesota Supreme Court to decide on law granting felons the right to vote
Some felons in Minnesota have voted for the first time in their lives recently after the state passed a new law last year granting the right to vote to people who have been convicted of felonies but who are no longer incarcerated. That means people on supervised release and probation can vote.
