See you in 20 years, solar eclipse! Our cloudy Monday may have robbed Minnesota of the solar eclipse, but the green wave is coming. By Friday, highs in the 60s will return to much of western and southern Minnesota. Enjoy your weekend! Get more on Updraft.

Eyes turn to the skies across Minnesota for solar eclipse

Unfortunately, skies were mostly cloudy across the state for the eclipse, as a storm system spread rain. But holes opened in the clouds in some parts of the state —  here's some photographic evidence.

Proposed bill seeks to curb copper wire theft in St. Paul

It would require any person selling copper metal to have a state-issued license. Rep. Athena Hollins, DFL-St. Paul said thieves steal copper wire from streetlights, causing dark neighborhoods and  safety issues.

🥾 Minnesota veteran walks 1,000 miles to eclipse in Texas to spread hope
On Feb. 3, Daniel Crawford set foot on a journey from Austin, Minn., that has taken him through six states. On Monday, he watched the total solar eclipse from just outside Austin, Texas. His mission wasn’t one of endurance, but to raise awareness for the Minnesota organization that changed his life and helped him get sober.

The new plan offers targeted relief to specific groups of borrowers, notably those who've carried debt for many years, and those struggling to make payments. And many borrowers, regardless of income, could see relief from high interest balances.

The eclipse’s path of totality stretched from Mazatlán, Mexico to Newfoundland, an area that crosses 15 U.S. states and is home to 44 million people. Revelers were engulfed in darkness at state parks, on city rooftops and in small towns.
