Apple River stabbing case: Nicolae Miu found guilty of killing Isaac Schuman

Nicolae Miu, now 54, was found guilty of fatally stabbing 17-year-old Isaac Schuman of Stillwater during a tubing trip in western Wisconsin in summer 2022. He had been charged with first-degree intentional homicide, and four counts of attempted first-degree intentional homicide.

Health department says 22 Minnesota water systems have PFAS above new federal limits

For the first time, the Environmental Protection Agency has set enforceable drinking water standards for six PFAS. Water systems will be required to monitor for the chemicals and remove them if they're above the allowable levels.

🚨 Authorities ID woman, 2 children found dead in vehicle in Ramsey park
Authorities say the deaths of Jessica Linette Frank, 33, 9-year-old Solara Frank and 4-year-old Laiken Frank were an isolated incident and there is no known threat to the community.
❤️‍🩹 Taopi mayor: ‘Families are back where they belong’ two years after tornado
April 12 is the second anniversary of the EF2 tornado that destroyed the roughly 60-person town of Taopi, Minn. Mayor Mary Huntley said most of the displaced families are now back.

The John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation announced their 2024 fellows today, including three artists from Minnesota: Visual artist Dyani White Hawk, author David Mura and painter Lamar Peterson.

Thursday brings a statewide tornado drill for Minnesota as part of severe weather awareness week in Minnesota and Wisconsin.
📝 Minneapolis releases officer misconduct data, nearly 4 years after Floyd killing, protests
It's been nearly four years since George Floyd died at the hands of Minneapolis police officers. Recently, the city released documents showing at least a dozen officers were disciplined for misconduct during that time.
💲Five things to know as the tax deadline looms
April 15, the deadline to file your income taxes, is just around the corner. Filings so far this year are on track with last year's, while the average refund is slightly larger.
