Man shot, wounded after standoff with police at Woodbury shopping center

Woodbury police say a man was shot and wounded by officers outside a Target store on Monday morning, after a standoff that prompted a shelter-in-place alert for the area.

Sammy McDowell, restaurant owner and fixture of the Black community in Minneapolis, suddenly dies

Sammy McDowell owned Sammy’s Avenue Eatery which opened on the north side in 2012. He collapsed during church service.

🚨 State senator arrested on suspicion of burglary at Detroit Lakes home
Minnesota State Sen. Nicole Mitchell, DFL-Woodbury, was arrested early Monday morning without incident, police said, and no weapons were involved. She was booked into the Becker County jail.
