At a tattoo studio in Roseville, JC Stroebel and Jesse George are spending the next several days with dozens of tattoo appointments all for the same piece of art — Naz Reid’s name.

Police release body cam footage of woman killed by St. Paul officers

Pepsi Lee Heinl, 41, died from multiple gunshot wounds Monday evening. The three St. Paul police officers who fired their department handguns were identified by the BCA as Chiking Chazonkhueze, Chee Lao and Yengkong Lor.

🤩 Northern lights forecast: Intense auroras possible in Minnesota Friday night, Saturday morning
Take your naps now — Peak activity is expected from 1-4 a.m. Saturday. MPR News meteorologist Sven Sundgaard says this means the auroras could be visible even into southern Minnesota and beyond.
🏛️ Legal Marijuana Now Party demoted from major party status in Minnesota Supreme Court decision
The Minnesota Supreme Court effectively demoted the Legal Marijuana Now Party in a ruling issued Friday. The 27-page decision means only the DFL and Republican will continue to have automatic ballot access for their candidates, a share of public subsidy dollars and other legal protections afforded to major parties.
🏬 Minneapolis approves plan to redevelop area where Kmart store blocked Nicollet Ave. for decades
Under the new plan, the former Kmart department store and its parking lot which has blocked Nicollet Avenue near Lake Street since the late 1970s, will include mixed-use buildings, park land and new bike and pedestrian infrastructure.

🌼 Audio postcard: Orchid season in the woods
With so much recent rainfall in Minnesota, the hunt for wildflowers is kicking off again. For Wildflower Chasers Kelly Povo and Phyllis Root. Our latest postcard comes from Houston County in southeast Minnesota, within the depths of a forest on the backside of a goat prairie. Among the many flowers, they found yellow bellwort and a couple of different orchids.
