‘A win for the Midwest’: Passenger rail service between St. Paul and Chicago is rolling

Enter: Amtrak Borealis. Starting at $40 a ticket, A new rail passenger service between the Twin Cities and Chicago is now operational. The daily round trip service left Union Station for the first time today, stopping in Milwaukee and Winona.

Lawsuit: Woman alleges Chauvin also kneeled on her months before George Floyd’s murder

Patty Day says in January 2020, Chauvin and a partner violently pulled a woman from a car and threw her to the ground and that Chauvin kneeled on her back while she was handcuffed. Day claims she suffered a broken tooth and injuries.

Minnesota’s top elected officials hear calls for divestment at state board meeting
About 100 people filled the room near the Minnesota Capitol where the State Board of Investment was meeting; lots of them brought signs and Palestinian flags to support those who spoke to the four-person board that includes Gov. Tim Walz.
Rochester City Council member expelled from meeting
"I believe my question last night, asking for transparency, was not only reasonable and germane, but essential for public trust," said Rochester City Council Member Molly Dennis, who was asked to leave during a planned discussion about how the city collects unpaid parking tickets.
Minnesota will use a climate roadmap for state investments
Over the next five years, the board will invest about $200 million per year in energy transition industries. Another area of investment might be so-called “brown to green” industries. Those are  industries that contribute to climate warming gas emissions, but can adapt their operations to reduce those emissions.
