Cleanup underway after severe storms, possible tornadoes in central and northern Minnesota

The National Weather Service sent out teams to survey the damage and determine whether any of it was caused by tornadoes. Weather spotters had reported seeing at least four tornadoes as the storms moved across central Minnesota on Wednesday night.

Legislative auditor: Minnesota Department of Education ‘created opportunities for fraud’

A strongly worded report from the Minnesota Legislative Auditor's office finds that "actions and inactions" by the Minnesota Department of Education opened the door for fraud in two taxpayer-funded child nutrition programs.

🚨Man fatally shot by police in south Minneapolis
A man who reportedly was seen waving a handgun was fatally shot by police in south Minneapolis on Wednesday night. The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension confirmed that it has responded to the shooting and is investigating.

Adam Fravel, 30, is charged with first-degree murder in the death of 26-year-old Madeline Kingsbury. She disappeared from Winona in late March of last year. Her body was found more than two months later in Fillmore County.

🐄 New influenza testing rule for dairy cows going to Minnesota fairs
The Minnesota Board of Animal Health now requires a negative test for the H5N1 virus before a lactating dairy cow can attend any exhibition for “display or judging.”
