Twin Cities women are first out of prison under felony murder overhaul

In 2023, lawmakers in the DFL-led Minnesota Legislature put new restrictions around the state’s felony murder statute. Under the old law, prosecutors could charge a person with aiding and abetting murder during the commission of an underlying felony no matter their role in that felony.

Duluth council backs massive new hilltop housing development

The proposed development could eventually cost $500 million and would include up to 1,300 housing units, a combination of rental apartments and condominiums for sale. Council members approved the agreement 8-1 to help bring infrastructure to the site, which has sat dormant for over a decade after Duluth Central High School closed in 2011.
