Launch a Podcast in Quarantine? You Can Enter It for Free in Adweek's 2020 Podcast Awards

What was your creative outlet of choice during these past few months of quarantine?

Personally, I decided to start learning video editing, which hasn't resulted in many new career pathways or Hollywood job offers yet, but did result in several suitably cringeworthy TikToks.

But you might be one of the many who took this opportunity to start a new podcast, whether directly addressing life in quarantine or just using your enforced isolation as an opportunity to start a new audio content strategy.

If so, or if you know someone cool who did, I'm excited to report that we've added a new—and totally free—category in the 2020 Adweek Podcast of the Year Awards.

The "Best Podcast Launched in Quarantine" category is open to any show with any theme that was created during the pandemic. Entries will be judged on a combination of creative excellence, innovation and production quality.

I'm excited to see this year's entries across all our categories, which cover everything from the year's best editors and producers to the top shows for creativity and thought leadership.

In the meantime, which new shows should I be listening to? Drop me a note with your recommendations at the email below or find me at @Griner on Twitter.

Oh and while I'm plugging things, be sure you've subscribed to Adweek's weekly podcast, "Yeah That's Probably an Ad," which I co-host with my colleague Ko Im. We try to keep things both fun and informative, and honestly it's about as close as I get to social interaction these days.
