Verify your identity early with Companies House Directors and people with significant control (PSCs) can now verify their identity with Companies House, before it becomes compulsory in autumn 2025. Once you've successfully verified your identity, youâll get a unique identifier known as a Companies House personal code. Keep this code safe as youâll need to use it to connect your verified identity to our records from autumn 2025. Authorised Corporate Service Providers: Verifying your clientâs identity If youâre a third-party provider who has registered as an Authorised Corporate Service Provider (ACSP), you can now verify your clientsâ identities for Companies House using our Verify a client service. You must have completed identity checks that meet the Companies House identity verification standard. These are different to customer due diligence checks to prevent money laundering. From spring 2026, youâll need to be an ACSP to continue to file on behalf of your clients. Register as an ACSP. We've published an article to help you understand your responsibilities as an ACSP, answering your common questions. Get involved: balancing business success with wider responsibilities The Department for Business and Trade is researching how company directors balance their legal duty to make the business successful, while considering the interests of employees, customers, suppliers, communities and the environment (section 172 of the Companies Act). There are no plans to change these duties, but your feedback will help the government to review how this legislation works in practice. Changes to HMRC Corporation Tax reminders, statements and receipts From June 2025, HMRC will stop sending some Corporation Tax letters where you can access the information using HMRC online services instead. These letters include: - return reminderÂ
- installment payment reminder
- interest statement
There will be no change to the Corporation Tax process itself. Customers can view their liabilities and payments in their HMRC online account and agents can support their clients using Corporation Tax for Agents online service. |
