WEEKENDERS: The New Orleans area is in for a lovely weekend. Here’s the weather forecast, a list of everything on Saturday’s election ballot, a how-we-met love story to read while waiting to vote and, after leaving your polling place, some fun things to see and do. IN LABOR: Amid a national shortage of nurses, made worse by the pandemic, a labor union has filed paperwork to organize 750 nurses for collective bargaining at this New Orleans hospital. GAS FUND: Louisiana joined Arkansas and Oklahoma to seek some of the $7 billion that the federal government offered for regional “clean” hydrogen energy hubs. On Friday, the winning applicants were announced.
