YouTube reportedly testing smart AI feature that skips to 'best' part

It could be just the ticket for time-poor YouTube viewers

YouTube is testing an AI-powered recommendation system that will analyze patterns in your viewing behavior and take you straight to the most popular parts of a video simply by double-tapping the display.

“The way it works is, if a viewer is double tapping to skip ahead [a few seconds] on an eligible segment, we’ll show a ‘jump ahead’ button that will take them to the next point in the video that we think they’re aiming for,” Creator Insider explained.

The feature is currently being tested with YouTube Premium users in the U.S., suggesting that if it goes global, only subscribers will get it ...

Publishers concerned over whether to support Xbox, report claims

Some third-party video game publishers reportedly have concerns due to ‘flatlining’ sales of the Xbox console in Europe

In a new podcast from Gamesindustry.biz, Chris Dring said that at the 2024 Game Developers Conference last week, he heard that “flatlining” Xbox hardware sales in Europe have prompted some companies to question whether to continue making games for the platform.

Dring claimed that one major company — he didn’t name it but said it launched a prominent title last year — had said it didn’t know “why we bothered supporting it.”

Microsoft said in court documents last year that it lost the console war in 2001 — but continues to make the Xbox regardless. Fans of the platform will be hoping that continues, along with decent support from publishers ...
