'Crumbling like crackers'

Despite spending $4.8 million to improve its aging roads, leaders in St. Helena Parish say they're none too thrilled with the quality of work.

"The asphalt on some of these roads is crumbling up like crackers,” Willie Morgan, a police juror for the parish’s third district, told The Advocate in this story. "We know we got to pay the bill, but we should want our work done right, and then you pay 'em."

Well, that escalated quickly

Fallout over an audit that exposed millions of dollars in questionable spending by the city of Zachary boiled over into a social media feud involving a brandished gun and plenty of fightin' words.
