Our News at a Glance.
Dear Reader,
In February, most of our good intentions for the New Year belong already to the past. We, ourselves, have intended to reserve time for nature observation without compromises during this year. Plans that inspire you while you do them really last longer.

We started the year with counting winter birds. Now the amphibians need our support in order not to be run over by cars. From 5°C they wake up from their hibernation and walk to their spawning grounds. The rest of the year we plan to commit ourselves to extreme birding.

We wish you lots of success for your good intentions and that you will experience nature intensively this year!!

Twilight test

The light in the mornings has not come back to the northern hemisphere yet, but it will do soon. Birds will wake up earlier little by little, and in dawn the most exciting sights will happen. Or just think of the mentioned amphibians, they migrate mainly during nights as air humidity is higher. David Fisher has tested the Victory SF during twilight. Perform your own test with our retailer’s campaign.

In his blog he describes what is important to choose the right optics, and he gives recommendations according to his experience.

Winter birds for the famil
In many countries nature conservation organizations organize a census to count birds in winter in residential areas. Those so called citizen science projects show a tendency about how songbirds develop in our gardens. ZEISS supported the winter census of the German nature organization, where 3.3 million birds were counted. It was a year of extremes also there: More people than ever before were interested in counting birds and the frequency of occurrence of the birds went up with 12% per garden.
