Monday

Galatians 3:16

You, God, gave the promise to Abraham and his child. And notice that it doesn’t say the promise was to his children, as if it meant many descendants. But the promise was to his child–and that, of course, means You, Christ.

Tuesday

Galatians 3:17

This is what I am trying to say: The agreement You, God, made with Araham could not be canceled 430 years later when You, God, gave the law to Moses. You, God, would be breaking Your promise.

Wednesday

Galatians 3:18

For if the inheritance could be received only by keeping the law, then it would not be the result of accepting Your promise, God. But You, God, gave it to Abraham as a promise.

Thursday

Galatians 3:19

Well then, why was the law given? It was given to show me how guilty I am. But this system of law was to last only until the coming of the child to whom Your promise, God, was made. And there is this further difference. You, God, gave Your laws to angels to give to Moses, who was the mediator between You, God, and the people.

Friday

Galatians 3:20

Now a mediator is needed if two people enter into an agreement, but You, God, acted on Your own when You made Your promise to Abraham.

Zingers from Croft M. Pentz, Tyndale House Publishers

4836. Weep more for the lives of the bad than for the deaths of the good.

4837. There are no amendments to the Ten Commandments.

4838. Our sense of sin will always be in proportion to our nearness to God.

4839. To sin is human; to persist in it is idiocy.

4840. A little sin will add to your trouble, subtract from your energy, and multiply your difficulties.

In 1978, Zig Ziglar christened his new office building (at the corners of Alpha and Omega) by establishing the Monday Morning Devotional. He invited his staff, his family, his friends and associates to attend as often as they wished. Many non-staff quickly became “regulars,” and all made contributions to the success of the event.
