So You, Jesus, went and preached to the spirits in prison–those who disobeyed You, God, long ago when You waited patiently while Noah was building his boat. Only eight people were saved from drowning in that terrible flood.

And this is a picture of baptism, which now saves me by Your power, Jesus, by Your resurrection. Baptism is not a removal of dirt from my body; it is an appeal to You, God, from a clean conscience.
