Monday

1 Peter 2:2, 3

I must crave pure spiritual milk so that I can grow into the fulness of my salvation. I cry out for this nourishment as a baby cries for milk, now that I have had a taste of Your kindness, Lord.

Tuesday

1 Peter 2:4

I come to You, Christ, Who are the living cornerstone of Father God’s temple. You were rejected by the people, but You are precious to Father God Who chose You.

Wednesday

1 Peter 2:5

And now, You, God, are building me, as a living stone, into Your spiritual temple. What’s more, I am Your holy priest, who offers the spiritual sacrifices that please You because of Jesus Christ.

Thursday

1 Peter 2:6

As the Scriptures express it, “I am placing a stone in Jerusalem, a chosen cornerstone, and anyone who believes in Him will never be disappointed.”

Friday

1 Peter 2:7

Yes, You are very precious to me, a believer. But for those who reject You, “The stone that was rejected by the builders has now become the cornerstone.”

Zingers from Croft M. Pentz, Tyndale House Publishers

4516. God has promised forgiveness for your repentance, but He has not promised tomorrow for your procrastination.

4517. There is a time to be born and a time to die. Where we spend eternity depends on the interval between these times.

4518. It is never too early to decide for Christ, but the time will come when it will be too late.

4519. An insurance agent has this slogan on his letterhead: “We insure everything except eternity.”

4520. We may travel the sea of life without Christ, but what about the landing?

In 1978, Zig Ziglar christened his new office building (at the corners of Alpha and Omega) by establishing the Monday Morning Devotional. He invited his staff, his family, his friends and associates to attend as often as they wished. Many non-staff quickly became “regulars,” and all made contributions to the success of the event.
