ZShield wins national design award for innovation

The face shield, produced by Columbia-based digital manufacturing company ZVerse, was named a winner of the annual Innovation by Design Awards by business magazine Fast Company.

S.C. to receive $31.5M grant for charter schools

The funding from the U.S. Department of Education’s Charter School Programs will be used to expand the state’s 90 existing charter schools and to open 32 new schools during the next five years. 

Teacher-led tutoring program expanding to S.C.

Maryland Teacher Tutors, founded in 2015, employs more than 150 current and former certified teacher tutors in the greater Baltimore and Washington, D.C. areas. Its S.C. branch will be led by educator Molly Broom.

MTC Foundation accepting scholarship applications

Applications for spring scholarships, available online, will be accepted through Oct. 31, and more than $100,000 is available. Students complete one application and are matched to scholarship opportunities.
