January was a very busy month at DPReview. We started the year with our studio scene test coming back online and have spent the last month testing and preparing many many (MANY) reviews. Behind the scenes, it's been a delightful madhouse. This week, we have a pair of reviews, bringing us to five so far for the year. And that's not including lens, accessories and software reviews or the steady stream of news, features, how-tos and explainers. And we've got a lot more coming soon! That's what is going on in our neck of the woods; now, we'd like to hear from you. Whether you're new or you've been with us for a while, please take a moment to fill out this short newsletter preferences survey. Your answers will help us evolve the newsletter to include more of what you want from DPReview. Let us know; we're listening!

Reader question of the week Do you have a question you'd like to see in this section? Email me. Last week, we posed the question, if you could only pick one lens, what would it be and why; here is what you had to say:
DPReview readers on their favorite lenses "Nikon 16-80mm f 2.8 for everyday shooting: people, scenery, nature, sports. It sits on my Nikon D500. It’s fast, sharp and adaptable ... in my opinion, an under rated Nikon lens and is not expensive to purchase. "My Eyeball Mk.1 .......until it let me down and I had to start using ruddy glasses! AND DON'T EVEN MENTION TEETH Well, now I really want to mention teeth. Must... resist... - Shaminder "Canon RF100-500mm, for wildlife here in South Africa 🇿🇦. Stay well clear of lions, as they don't brush 🤢." They are the mane attraction. - Shaminder "I have been a keen photographer for over 50 years and after a lifetime of using Nikon/Canon & Hasselblad cameras I have now settled on Fuji cameras ... My favourite lens is currently the Fuji 150-600 f8. Being both light and optically excellent enabling me to carry the lens further and use it hand held in most situations." "My favorite lens is actually two kit lenses that came with my Nikon Z30. The Z DX 16-50mm 3.5 and the Z DX 50-250mm 4.5 are all I could ask for right now... Both lenses, paired with my Z30, produce photos that astound me everyday. I hope to get a 2X extender for wildlife closeups." Loving the love for kit lenses! I still have my first one, it reminds me of where I found my love of photography. - Shaminder Here's our next question of the week:What is the oldest camera that you'd still enjoy using today?Let us know; click here to e-mail me. |
