Financial burden easing for some Americans, report shows The latest annual report by the Financial Stability Oversight Council indicates that many Americans have regained their financial security thanks to government COVID-19 relief programs, but some, especially those in sectors greatly affected by the pandemic, remain in financial distress. The report's findings include the ratio of households' debt to disposable income dropping "well below its 2007 peak and slightly below pre-pandemic levels," and a record high in household net worth after a 5.6% decline during the first quarter of 2020.
