Study: Taking naps could boost memory performance A study in the journal Sleep of 92 adolescents suggests that taking naps can enhance performance on long-term memory tasks. Study participants included those who habitually napped and those who did not, and the results showed that napping could improve memory test performance even in those who don't usually nap during the day.
