Today's Top 10 Stories | #1 | | AT&T: DirecTV Now Will Be a Game Changer | | | AT&T CFO John Stephens told analysts yesterday that the companys planned over-the-top offering, DirecTV Now, slated to debut by the end of the year, will be a game changer, targeting millennial cord cutters with a streaming video service chock full of on-demand and live content. Why This Matters: Company CEO Randall Stephenson added that digital content rights, specifically stacking rights, were the major holdout. The CEO said a beta version of the service is functional and undergoing testing. The move comes just a week after launching BitTorrent Now on iOS and Apple TV. Unlike BitTorrent Now, BitTorrent Live relies on peer-to-peer technology to turn every viewer into a broadcaster.
