Binance, Huobi, and Poloniex all took part in the takeover, in an act that voted out the established Steem witnesses (block validators), and unlock pre-mined Steem coins. These coins were previously frozen by the former witnesses, to prevent them being used by Tron after acquiring the Steemit platform. The Republic of the Marshall Islands is launching its own national digital currency, the Marshallese Sovereign - which will be based on the Algorand blockchain. Two Chinese nationals have been charged by the US for laundering cryptocurrency which was stolen by North Korean hackers, worth over $100 million.
