But, by Thanksgiving, we’ll gain back about 10 degrees. Besides a few showers possible on Turkey Day and Friday night, it’s another mostly dry week. So the emerging drought in the region will only gain stronger footing. Today (Monday): Most of the region should awake to freezing temperatures (except perhaps a few holdouts in the city). Factoring in the wind, it feels like the 20s everywhere when you head out, so grab your winter weather attire (heavy coats, hats and gloves). The sun shines strongly, but temperatures struggle to respond. Highs are mostly in the 40s. Winds aren’t as intense as Sunday, but are still a presence — sustained at 15-20 mph with gusts to 30 mph. Confidence: Medium-High Tonight: This will be the coldest night of the fall so far. Skies are clear and temperatures tumble into the 20s in most locations, except near freezing in the city. We can’t totally shake the winds, although they’re much less noticeable, sustained around 10 mph with a few higher gusts. Confidence: Medium-High |
