The White House, Dec. 14, 2016. (Dave L via Flickr) TODAY’S DAILY DIGIT A somewhat subjective rating of the day’s weather, on a scale of 0 to 10. 8/10: No rain dear, no snow man. Mild temps give good cheer to all but the winter fan. EXPRESS FORECAST Today: Becoming mostly sunny and breezy. Highs: 48-52 Tonight: Clear, winds calming. Lows: 25-32 Tomorrow: Sunny and calm. Highs: 45-49 View the current weather conditions at The Washington Post headquarters. FORECAST IN DETAIL You know we are in a mild spell when a cold front pushes through today and we still climb to near 50. In fact, highs through Christmas and beyond remain similarly comfortable. This ensures that precipitation Saturday is only rain and should clear out before the “man in red” begins his deliveries that night. Snow lovers have to look to the New Year for any hopes of the white stuff…sorry. Today (Thursday): Early morning clouds quickly dissipate allowing the sun to dominate the day. Highs reach the upper 40s to lower 50s. Gradually strengthening northwest winds make it feel colder especially the gusts up to 25 mph. Confidence: High Tonight: Breezes gradually die down in the evening with clear skies through the night. Lows bottom out in the mid-to-upper 20s with the exception of lower 30s downtown. Confidence: High |
