| | Webinar Series: Keeping Every Patient Safe | |
| |
|
| |
|
| Join our complimentary three-part webinar series where we explore strategies for building a workforce that is centered on keeping each patient safe. Every Time. | |
| |
|
| | | | Wednesday, May 24 | | 12 PM CST | | Presented by: Arjun Srinivasan, MD Associate Director, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) | | | | |
| |
| | Part 1: Making Healthcare Safer: Preventing Healthcare Associated Infections and Combating Antibiotic Resistance Healthcare associated infections can be complicated by emerging antibiotic resistance. Antibiotic resistance is the ability of microbes to resist the effects of drugs – that is, the germs are not killed, and their growth is not stopped. Infections with resistant organisms are difficult to treat, requiring costly and sometimes toxic alternatives. Dr. Srinivasan will address how best to prevent healthcare associated infections and combat antibiotic resistance. |

| |
| | Part 2: Ensuring Patient Safety: The Ultimate Survivor Game It is the responsibility of each organization to assess its clinicians to ensure the provision of safe patient care. In this webinar, we will review five of the top root causes of sentinel events revealed by The Joint Commission in 2016 and discuss how they can be reduced or prevented through proper staff assessment and development. Throughout this webinar we will include interactive patient situations along with polling to determine if the patients at our virtual organizations will survive. |

| | | | Thursday, June 8 | | 2 PM CST | | Presented by: April Blankenship Executive Coach, HealthStream Engagement Institute | | | | |
| |
| | Part 3: Understanding the Patient's Perspective on Patient Safety As healthcare providers, we understand that the patient must be the center of everything we do – to truly understand and manage what the patient, sees, feels, and experiences. If we flip the scenario and begin thinking from a patient’s perspective, this way of thinking can lead to more meaningful patient outcomes. We have one chance to make a positive first impression and cast a positive patient experience across the continuum of care. The expectation should be that every organization understands, communicates, and shows empathy to their patients. It’s certainly the expectation of every patient. |
