After 26 years managing the vertebrate collections for the LSU Museum of Natural Science, Suyin Ting is retiring. To celebrate, some researchers who worked with Ting named a prehistoric species of shark after her: Carcharhinus tingae.

As Louisiana reached the second-highest rate of female homicides in the country, legislative audits set out to look at what systems our state has in place to help survivors.
