| | Quittenbaum Kunstauktionen and Schops Turowski Kunst & Design join forces. |
|
Thanks to the merger with Schops Turowski Kunst & Design, we are delighted to provide you, our esteemed consignors and buyers, from now on, with our broadened expertise.
Our team of specialists will now be augmented by Tom Turowski, as contact person and art expert, as well as Ingo Napieraj and Carolin Lucas-Redecker at the Krefeld site. Dr. Marcus Oertel, with his wide-ranging expertise, will take over the management of the Quittenbaum branch in Düsseldorf. As the executive partner, Askan Quittenbaum will be present, in turns, at each location.
Given our two locations in Munich and Krefeld as well as our representation in Düsseldorf, our customers will have several contact points in the future and profit from the expertise of all our staff.
Works from the successful key subjects of applied and visual arts of the 20th century will continue to be offered at both locations. The Krefeld team excels in the field of ceramics while Murano glass and jewelry are a specialty in Munich. We look forward to present the highlights of each auction at each location soon. The renowned studio pottery segment has been particularly profitable in Krefeld, as the region has always had a very strong collecting tradition in this field. Works by Lucie Rie, Hans Coper and Beate Kuhn, among others, continue to achieve top prices here. Furthermore, artists from Group Zero and works of Op Art and Pop Art have obtained global record prices in Krefeld in recent auctions- works by Adolf Luther and Andy Warhol have been particularly popular here.
At the long-established location in Munich, the proximity to Italy is reflected in the maximum prices obtained from international collectors in the Murano glass and Design Classics sector.
The merger of the two houses - Quittenbaum Kunstauktionen and Schops Turowski Kunst & Design - has enabled us to consolidate our market leadership in the Art Nouveau segment. In addition, we benefit from the location-based synergy effects of the two important international centers for modern jewelry - Munich and Düsseldorf |

Together we are heading for a strong future! |
