TAKE THE CHALLENGE: FACE OF AMERICA BY JON BRIDEAU EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR Some of you may know me from Face of America 2015, 2016 and 2017, in which I rode as a member of Team Capital One. Like many of you, these rides to Gettysburg were life-changing to me, so much so that I joined World T.E.A.M. Sports as the new Executive Director at the beginning of October. I'm working closely with our board of directors, our CEO and President Van Brinson, and the World T.E.A.M. Sports team to help our organization grow and expand in 2018 and beyond. We have some big plans for the coming months and years and I look forward to sharing more with you soon. Our upcoming April 27-29 Face of America ride to Gettysburg will make a big impact on our growth as an organization. We have seen in past years that our athletes and volunteers have raised substantial amounts of money through heartfelt appeals to friends, family and business associates. Now, we are asking everyone to contribute and increase our support. For 2018, we are requiring all participating athletes and caregivers to be a part of our fundraising effort. Minimum fundraising amounts remain the same as in 2017 for most categories; for our adaptive athletes, we are asking that they raise $250. For our registered caregivers, we are asking for $100. Through this combined effort, we will not only cover the costs of Face of America, but we can also enhance and expand our other inclusive events. I'm happy to be a part of this organization and look forward to seeing all of you in April. Our new Face of America event registration and fundraising site opens TODAY - please join me in registering and in encouraging others to join us on both our inclusive routes to Gettysburg. All participating athletes and registered caregivers are required to fundraise in 2018, meeting or exceeding their category minimum. In addition, teams may no longer combine their fundraising, but team captains can transfer team-specific funds internally to team members. We want everyone contributing to the event and helping their respective teams reach their goals.
